This Betty Boop Sericel is one for both serious collectors and casual fans. First created as a dog character in the Newspaper comics by Grim Natwick and later Betty's figure was modeled after Mae West. Since then there were more than one hundred Betty Boop cartoons produced. Ownership of the Betty Boop cartoons has changed over the decades due to corporate mergers, acquisitions, and divesting. Today Paramount Studios handles theatrical and television distribution. The Betty Boop character and trademark are currently owned by King Features Syndicate and Fleischer Studios.
